Landscape design, an original approach/Skivarp/Sweden_2007

Skivarp is a passing through village about a thousand inhabitants, located in the south of Sweden. The road that cross it has been losing the coherence with the village compared to its historical links. Thousands of cars every day, no attraction either compensation from that, so the mayor and the population decided to get back to a more logical and adapted design.
The work had been done with two other persons (one from Sweden and another from Slovenia) ending about two months, focused on a sensitive approach. Working through the history, people observations and many other statements listing the physical and abstract landscape from one end to the other. A video 'deconstruction' tool has been created and used to make the project as close to the reality as possible.

Project 4 design SLU Alnarp, Sweden, winter 2007 The PROJECT 4 DESIGN course train the ability to handle complex problems of design in an urban or rural context and to find a well-based and personal expression for our solution. Thus the course content ranges from design theory via creative idea to proposals for practical realisation.
